This venue was the absolute best. It was so wonderful to have the inn for the entire weekend. Shelly and Ashley were so helpful in making our day so magical. The rooms in the inn are lovely and well kept. The food was delicious. The venue has both indoor and outdoor options. We had our ceremony outside in front of the gazebo and it was so beautiful. There are lodging options near the inn, which was great for out of town visitors. The decor matched what we envisioned on our special day. All expenses and expectations were clear. We would highly recommend this venue as your southern VT wedding

Inn keepers Shelly & Doug were fantastic hosts for my daughter'swedding this past weekend. From the very first meeting, we knew we were in good hands. The inn is not only beautiful, but clean and welcoming. Our families loved being able to treat the entire inn as our own home. After a last minute change of plans due to inclement weather, Shelly and her staff accommodated us favorably inside for the ceremony & cocktail hour. Both the reception and dinner as well as the bountiful breakfasts were excellent and plentiful. We would definitely recommend this jewel for not only a wedding, but for a relaxing, accommodating weekend getaway

Shelly and Doug and their entire staff were excellent!! Attentive, friendly, helpful, and always nearby with reassurance. We could not have asked for a more beautiful location or welcoming atmosphere. Our guests were thrilled with the food, the Inn, the grounds, and the wonderful people running the show behind the scenes.

We just celebrated our daughter's wedding at the Lilac Inn last weekend. The entire day was spectacular. The Inn itself provided its incrediblywarm and charming setting, but the memorable experience was beautifully orchestrated by Shelly, Doug and their wonderful staff. The food, which promised to be delicious, totally exceeded expectations. It was, well... scrumptious and plentiful (and folks are still talking about the butternut squash ravioli and the flourless chocolate cake). But Shelly's true power was experienced by all when during the ceremony at the gazebo, the cloudy skies parted and the sun streamed down on the gathering right when the vows were exchanged. She definitely has the "power." I cannot think of a single moment - or a single detail - that I would have changed. Thank you Shelly and Doug for so masterfully working with us and bringing your own sensitivity and talents to this special time for us. The day was all we had hoped it could be.

Shelly and Doug helped me to have the most beautiful and relaxing wedding. Thanks to them everything went off without a hitch! Everythingabout the inn made me never want to leave!!
We recently had my daughter's wedding ceremony and reception at the Lilac Inn, and to say that it was incredible would be an understatement.
Both the facility and the staff made our event truly special. The inn itself was amazing, the bedrooms large and decorated beautifully, and the gardens where the ceremony was held could not have been better. The staff went above and beyond before, during, and after the wedding, always available no matter how trivial the request.
I would highly recommend the Lilac Inn.

We had our son's wedding at the Lilac Inn for 3 days in late July, with about 140 guests. The grounds and house are beautiful and handled the large crowd extremely well. (Overflow rooms at the Brandon Inn were reportedly very nice as well). The Innkeepers Shelly and Doug were around and available but unobtrusive. They are very friendly and rightfully proud of their property and very willing to talk about the history of the Inn, as well as the history and exploration opportunities of the surrounding area. The Staff was very friendly and helpful, as well. The food was very good, especially the breakfasts cooked to order! The rooms are each unique and beautifully appointed. It was like walking into a bygone time. Some members of our party went brewery hopping in the immediate area, others enjoyed the quaint beauty and hospitality of Brandon and the local countryside, there is a wide assortment of things to do. We had an incredible experience, overall. I would give the experience 6 stars on a scale of 1 to 5. Because we were busy with the wedding, we will be returning when we can have more time to explore.
